I'm looking at both a Polaris add on rear rack and a PRM Products Six-Pack Rack. The Polaris rack is larger, steel and about $100.00
The PRM rack is aluminum, hangs off of the rear, and about $60.00
Any opinions?
Anyone got a Polaris add on rack that's cluttering up the garage?

Neither rack is good for really hauling much, but I like the Polaris one. It's slightly out past the stock grab bar so when I stand it up on the back by mistake, it doesn't roll, it just balances on the rack.

The Polaris rack will get in the way a little bit if you ride it really aggressive. Mine is removed right now, but I put it back on for big rides to put a bag with cameras or drinks in. Without a bag or a lot of bungees, nothing stays on too well.

It doesn't look too bad mounted either.

I have both front and rear racks on my Scrambler. To the rear rack I added a 2 gallon gas holder also. For long rides its worth it. Just dont jump up and down on either one of these racks. They give the bike a little more utility look and help when pushing or pulling...not that I need pulling mind you! Well worth the money.

Another thing....
If you get a little too wild and lay it on its side, the Polaris Rear Rack will catch the machine and not crush your rear fender....
Been there, done that.... NOT pretty...!!!

Ah yes, good point. The rack also saves the rear fenders...not that I would know... :-)

Once I rolled it low-speed in a dry rock creek bed and it hit hard on the fenders, without the rack, and they bent I waited for the snap. It never happened. The Polaris Scrambler fenders are tough, just lose their shine fast!

I added a 60 caliber machine gun ammo box to the back of my Scrambler 400. It's waterproof, holds my registration papers, tools, tire repair, and a can of fix a flat. Only problem is it covers the brake light so I'm thing of moving it. Ammo boxes make great ATV trunks. If I needed a rack I'd make my own and mount it to my ammo box for temporary use.
