Default Polaris manuals??

Guys, I recently bought a 2000 Xplorer 400 . Does anyone know of a site where I can download an owner's manual? Also this is probably a bit of a dumb question for the experienced riders, but one question. When I first start the machine, it seems to be louder for a couple of seconds in the front end (motor noise) and then appears to settle down a bit once it has run for 5-10 seconds. Is this normal two stroke operation? Thanks in advance for the help.

You may be able to download a manual from www.purepolaris.com if not, you would have to buy one from your dealer. The manuals do not contain alot of info. and if you are serious about ever working on your machine, I would recommend a Polaris repair manual instead. You can get one from the dealer, they are kind of pricey, but well worth the money. That noise is probably a normal noise you are hearing. If the top-end is in good shape (compression of 115 psi or higher) then it is just the nature of the beast. The piston will rattle a little during start up and is perfectly normal.

I tried to download from Pure Polaris and they had nothing on manuals for the bike. I did find on E-Bay someone selling brand new all makes of Polaris manuals at a very resonable price.

You have to buy the service maunual. It is one of the best things that you can do for your quad. Nothing is as good as the polaris factor service manual. It is what the polaris techs use.

I would check www.parkeryamaha.com/atvpolmanual.htm. I just bought a service/repair manual for my 700, for 28 bucks plus shipping. Well worth the money!

Yes it is the actual Polaris manual, I don't know why it was so cheap, I didn't argue with them about the price. Its a oem polaris service manual. Like I said, I paid 28 bucks plus shipping and I got it in about a week and a half. If you can't get that link to work try 928-669-2385.
