Default Changing rear brake pads on a Scrambler

Can anyone give me the procedure for changing the rear brake pads on a 98 Scrambler 400? I have a service manual on order, but I'd like to go riding this weekend.

Thanks in advance.

98 could be either a concentric (brake caliper back on the axle) or non-concentric (brake caliper up front by the trans. I can help you with the concentric. There's a safety pin style clip that runs through the upper tabs of the pads. Lift up to clear, then slide out. Unbolt the caliper from it's retaining bracket. You can use a C-clamp to very slowly push the caliper piston back into the housing, you need to do this to gain your clearance back for the new pads. It's a good idea to have the lid off the brake reservoir, but keep an eye on things so it doesn't overflow if someone has topped it of between the brake change. Use a dab of blue loctite on the caliper retaining bolts when you reinstall them. Now is also a great time to bleed some fresh fluid through your system. Don't forget to bleed new fluid through the fronts to.

Thanks! Funny, I joined this site a year earlier than you and I have a total of 2 posts, you have 3000 and some. Maybe I should visit the site more often?
