Since the factory jetting is normally rich, you should be o.k., but still watch your plug color. The big gains you'll find when you install a Wiseco piston (you won't believe how much bigger the ports are) and get some porting done....oh, yea, clutch kit and pipe work great too. I did the pipe, head shave, air box mod, and clutch kit with a decent improvement. Next was V-force reeds, no more power but throttle response seemed quicker. Next was my port job which helped alot. Then was Bubba's clutch suggestion, this helped the most but not because it gave me more power but just allowed me to take advantage of the power the motor now had. Last was a reed spacer, no power gains but it now seems to "hit" harder off the line when I first give it full throttle. A few weeks ago I had a wheelie machine. Now I have a fast Scrambler with bald rear tires!

I will add to that comment to keep things straight. Matt was not concerned with racing or getting the most out of his bike. I set the porting up to mimick the factory power curve with a big boost in low to mid range for him. I always say an aftermarket secondary spring will help, but with the HPD trail pipe I found that a Polaris brown OEM works great with the stock s-55 weights in the primary. Bubba
