I need help in timing the balance shaft on my 400 scram. I think I found a dot on both sides of the balance shaft gear but I can't find anything on the crank gear. The shop manual is useless. They told me to mark it BEFORE I took it appart. Well...what if I didn't take it appart? [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] I got a "quad-in-a-box" deal on this polaris and I'm doing the best I can. Anyone who can help or has an engine appart and can send me pics or how many teeth past the holes or something? Thanks! -Jeff

 

i was told 18 teeth to right of both dots on shaft and gear...
