K&N air filters....too much dirt?
After reading some posts here and there concerning K&N air filters, I'm a bit perplexed.
Some say they are they greatest thing since sliced bread and other say they let in way too much dirt/dust.
What's been your experience?
Is a foam filter that much better even with an outerwears?
My riding is mostly mountain trails, logging roads, fire trails, etc... not too dusty. So should I go with the K&N, stick with the stock filter or get a Uni or another brand?

I ride in a about those same conditions with a little MUD thrown in. I have had a K&N with Outerwear for over a year now and have had NO problems. As long as you run an Outerwaer you will be all good. I clean my Outerwear after every ride and have yet to clean my K&N, it is still looking good. If you ride in super dusty conditions or in the dunes a lot, then a foam filter may do better. Anything is an inprovement over the stock paper filter

Well, if you don't have an Outerwears, then get one. That will add even more protection. And just keep and eye on it. Clean it and reoil it when needed and you should be fine. If you feel that the K&N is not filtering good enough in your conditions or if you see dirt in your intake then switch to a Uni or Twin Air
