It depends on what year you have. Mine is a 2000 and it had an 11 tooth sprocket on it. If you want better acceleration and to pull harder go with a smaller front sprocket, but you will lose some top end speed. If you want more top speed then add a tooth to the front sprocket but you will loose some acceleration. Changing the front sprocket buy one tooth is about the same as 2.5 teeth on the rear sprocket. You can get differnet sprockets thru a polaris dealer or rocky mountain atv.

For the concentric drive units the front sprocket is an 11T. On the non-concentric drive it is a 12T. I just ordered new Sunstar sprockets from Hot Seat Performance, mainly because it was the only place I could find a 36T rear. As far a changing the gear ratio goes, I haven't messed with mine because of the 4x4, but I am sure that someone will be on here soon to give you more insight.

Probably none because the horsepower isn't there to go any faster. You need to work with engine mods and clutching first, then worry about changing gears. My guess is that the 250 doesn't even achieve full shift-out in stock form.

I agree with 95sport400. Get yourself an RCR stage 1 kit and then start messing around with gearing

You'll get 4 to 5 mph going with one size bigger front tooth. But like there saying unless you do the mods to increase the horsepower you'll loose too much acceleration.
