The Polaris parts manuals are now provided free of charge on the Polaris website. Do a search on this forum, looking for parts manuals, and you will find the exact web adress.

Before these were available on-line I purchased the one for my '98 Sportsman from the dealer. It was $14 Canadian I believe. A quick call to the dealer would tell you if they are available for your '96.

I downloaded the manuals for both my quads, but I can't open the file. It just comes up all screwy. What program should I use to read the manuals?

The program that I use to open the Polaris Parts manual is Adobe Acrobate Reader 4.0 you might be able to download a version of Adobe's web page, but I dont know what the address is or anything. just do a little searching and you should be able to find a version somewhere.
