I haven't ridden a 700 to klnow what you mean by a softer throttle, but if your throttle is stiff or hard to push, that may mean that you have something else going on. Your cable may need lubing, replacing, or re-routed. The carb may also need cleaning as the slide could be hanging up causing the throttle to be stiff.

I love my RX. It hauls pretty good. I haven't ridden anything souped up, so I can't really compare.. but. I have made some runs and checked the times. 0-30 in 1.91 seconds. 0-60 in about 4.2 seconds. Top speed shown as 70, but not verified with GPS or anything. I will do that soon. The digital speedo says 70 the analog speedo is way off, it reads like 6-7 mph over the digital. All in all, I love it. I can definatley spank an HX. I had a friend who bought one the same time I did, brand new and out of the box I would whoop him everytime. I have heard the GP1200's are pretty quick though, I bet yours is really quick with the stage 2?

For a stiff throttle as NCScrambler mentioned your throttle cable probably just needs to be lubed. Also where the carb cable and the fuel injection cable join there is a rectangular junction piece. If you drill a small hole in the middle of that plastic junction piece just big enough for the plastic spray tube from whatever lube you use, you can lube up the slide where the cables join. Just put a drop of silicone sealant over the hole when you're done. That helped loosen up my throttle cable alot .
