Well I enjoy mine alot I think it is the best of both worlds 4x4 and 2x4
The only dislike I would have with it is just a bit heavy. Do not get me wrong though the motor has no trouble luggin the weight if fact it can amaze ya what it can do.
Performance is great not a good jumper though
there is only a few bikes out there that are stock that will be faster Banshee , 400ex , ds650
and that depends on the driver too.
It has got all kinds of low end torque hill climbing is a breeze in the mud it is good also but maybe not as good as some utility quads.I used to own manual shifted quads before and believe or not I am truly amazed of PVT I really enjoy not having to shift although I would like to try one with a six speed.
As you can tell I do enjoy my Scrambler and have no regrets in the choice I made it is truly one of a kind.
Oh and before someone says something about reliability an mantiance I myself have no issues with with none of these it has never left me stranded when some of my freinds have been (Brands not said do not want to start a flame war)
I do also like Honda , Yamaha , Suzuki ect and in my mind all quads are reliable some better than others as you probly know Honda's are bullet proof.
But polaris must be wearing a flack jacket because no problems here.
As far as upkeep just grease every couple of rides and give it a once over if you are not willing to do that to your investment..............it probly won't last but to grease and check over a Scramler 500 takes approximatley 10 to 15 min not a long time I can do it in about 6 min I have become pretty quick so it is not an issue as you can see.
Sorry for being so long winded I lost control
if you have anything else you would like to know just ask. Some of the guys on this forum know alot more than me but i will try my best to help ya.
Bet your glad that is over

Have a good one

They are heavy, but you can jump anything as long as you have a downsloap for a landing. For examples go to my web site and click on the "Lyons, Ohio" link. If anybody wanted a machine that could go through most mud holes and still have the speed to keep up with most the sport quads on the flats the scrambler 500 is the way to go. I have a 98 SC 500 and I love the machine. Sold a Warrior with a 435 kit and works suspension to get it. Got out of racing and wanted a good all around trail machine and I am not the least bit unhappy with my choice.
As for some dislikes and these are only minor and personal in order are;
1. Gas Mileage
2. Radiator mud protection
3. Suspension could be better
4. All wheel braking
The newer models have up graded suspensions that work a little better. I use a screen in front of the radiator held on with duct tape. This did help a lot with mud protection. I usually ride with other Scrambler owners and they also love their machines. It will putt around with the utility crowd in the mud holes or run competively with sportier machines. If you take care of it it wont let you down. HTH

I have a 2000 scrambler 500. I sold my 96 sportsman and got this. It is great. It's not as easy to tip over on the side of hills. I ride in the mountains with some really tight trails going up steap hills and you can't stop it. We climb the high wall at an old coal strip mine and it is easy. When I hit the deep mud I just hit 4 wheel and go. My buddy has a new 400ex and when he rode mine he was impressed with the suspension. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I have a 99 scrambler and it hauls. Whether it is in a foot of snow on the river during winter, or mud in the spring it overpowers all other quads (even some snowmobiles on the river) I ever met up with. I have climbed hills of all sorts and sizes, it always gets me there. The only time the belt slipped is when i buried it in some gross muck hole. It sat underwater for 1 hour and after being pulled out by the Isuzu Rodeo the belt was slipping. Put it in neutral, revved her up for a minute, popped her in gear and seeya later I was gone. Great machine, a little heavy but you can swing her around no problem. The only problem I had is I put in a clutch kit and now something is f*&#ed. Must fix it soon cause i need to do some riding.

hahahahahaha.......that is too funny a person after my own heart I too have screen in front of my radiator held on with duct tape....lol
but mine is not there for mud it is because the metal ones holes are too big and when flying along dirt roads with my friends it tends to let little rocks slip through and bend the fins on my rad.
I just had to tell ya because I took into laughing when I seen held on with duct tape.

Have a good one

Yeah I do carry a roll at all times car , truck , quad and house....lol
As Red Green says it is the handy man's secret weapon. I belive getting stock in this stuff would have been a good investment. Geez even Nascar use it to hold on body parts after a crash
