Default Video Help

Well I bought a little tiny tiny camera at a garage sale and mounted it on the front bumper of my Predator and hooked it up to the camcorder in a backpack. I got some pretty neat footage today, but after I captured it, edited it and try to save it with decent quality the size of the file gets HUGE. Does anybody here know of software or a way of getting the file size down without the quality suffering to much? I have watched video on the internet that was great in quality and small file size so I know it can be done. Just as a teaser, it is at the Oregon Dunes and most of it it climbing hills up through the trees.

What video editing software are you using to make your video? Some software limits the options that you have when creating your final video. Adobe Premier is a good editing software. Also what type of videos are you trying to create... a full dvd or video cd for home use or are you just trying to make small clips for email or internet viewing?
