Default 400 sport vs scrambler?

What is the difference between a 400 Sport and a 400 scrambler?
Just the body work?

They are the same thing. '99 was the last year for the sport but it continued on in '00 as the scrambler 2x4 as well as a 4x4

Late in 98, all machines were converted to the present concentric drive (front and rear sprockets are equi-distant throughout travel). Also I think it was in 2002, they changed the rear shock mounts too...that may have happened in 2001.

i assume you're reffering to the 2x4 VS 4x4 thing?
the 2x4 sport is lighter and throttle response is better and tranny is faster geared ratio.it give some edge on handling as well cauz of the lighter front end.

The 2000 up 2x4 Scrambler has long suspension travel than the 99 and down Sports.Plus the newer ones have braided brake lines along with a few more up grades.

Thanks FTW, yea, I forgot about the brakes...one of the better upgrades for the older machines.
