predator plastic cracking prob.
My buddy was wheeling his predator on a sand bar when he tipped it over on its side. It did not roll all the way over and was very gentle on the sand. The dang plastic cracked front and back all the way thru leaving it looking like he had rolled it 10 times down a 50ft hill. He called the dealer thinking he was going to have to buy new stuff but the dealer told him to bring it in because they were having problems with the plastic breaking and warranty was covering it. Has anyone else heard of this problem. We were very disapointed that it would break under such mild conditions.

FIrst run, new design is plastic has to run through it's 'paces' that would be difficult for hte factory to simulate. I have heard of a bunch of people that have cracked plsatic from mild rolls and a bunch thta had cracks start a stress points and continue.
Yup, it's normal.

I've put mine through woods war over and over. Spray on a Simple Green equivalent, wash it off. Spray on the 3M Marine protectant, and people ask where I bought my new plastic at. As the others said, kudo's to Polaris for warranting that.....they don't have to, that emphasizes what they're willing to do, to stand behind this machine. Rear plastic on my TLD500 cracked around the bolts that mount it to the frame on both sides of the air box. I have never rolled or crashed the quad , but it looks like the mounting bolts were just too tight and squeezed the plastic untill it cracked. The warranty had just expired but after a phone call from my dealer and some pics emailed to Polaris, my new black fender and decals are on its way, N.C.

I own a 500 predator and it is junk. I am on my second front fender. Second headlight mount. Second airbox. It breaks something every ride. I bought the extended warranty and it is worthless. My dealer has refused to even turn it in to Polaris and says if he does, he will loose his dealership. As a company, they do not believe in customer service if they threaten to jerk a dealership over a warranty claim. DO NOT BUY A POLARIS PRODUCT

WOW BJC it seems like you have a major problem And I dont think it is Polaris. Maybe something in your head. Dude, you need to get a life!! You break something EVERY time you ride? Maybe rider error. I think you are the ONLY one with SOOOO many problems with the predator. Go buy a honda. The honda is very reliable but you WILL be left behind when the predator kicks your a$$. We dont need smart a$$es like you in here. And there is NO reason a dealer would lose his license except for poor business practice. If it is a warranty problem then it is not the dealers fault. They just have to help correct the problem. You probabley dont even own a Polaris. GROW UP!!!!!

You are half right. I found out on this forum some people got some of there there plastic replaced. I paid $160 My dealer, Super Bike Shop, refused to turn it in. The air box broke this weekend and I told him my old 400ex never had problems like this and it has been thrashed. The owner told me to go buy anouther Honda. I also had one of his air force kits and he has to alter the airbox for it. He adds anouther filter. The motor sucked so hard it pulled it out and digested it. I ordered new webbing for the factory nerf bars that i bought with the machine in march and I still do not have it. The originals lasted 2 months along with the front plastic. I also have a Ranger and when I bought it I bought a windshild kit for it. It tooks 3 months to get it but new ones came into the dealer with them. I think my dealer is a crook.
