The 500 magnum is identical to my xpedition except
that I am 5 speed and the mag. is auto. Both the mag. and sp500 are good for hunting. the sp500 will go through deeper mud then the mag. if that means anything. The new sp's are very comfortable to drive now with the independent suspension. I drove one memorial weekend and When I drove over bumps I would brace my self for bumps and not bump. My xpedition is bumpy. Im not complaining. I like my xpedition allot. I am a trail rider that encounters deep mud frequently. So both machines will do what you want. rangerchet

They are both great, I went with the Sportsman mostly for the ride , I ride double allot. They both will do about anything you would want, the Magnum is less complicated, especially in the rear, the Sportsman IRS is crazy looking.
I really like the Sportsman. The Magnum is cheaper, maybe not as good a ride, but it has liquid cooling and the awesome 500 motor. Shaft drive. I would say drive them both. Then decide.

Either bike is a super ride the Sportsman has a comfortable ride but does come with more maintenance and more things that can break although the Sportsman does have a bigger gas tank, I don't think you can go wrong with either let us know what you decide...
