Default Need 700 Help

I got this from another board. I have wired the first mod mentioned in and has worked fine for me. Haven't gotten around to doing the second mod yet.

1] I can't guarantee this is right for the 02 700, but for the 03 700, the system works by removing the ground from the awd system. you can fix the awd so that it is not affected by the override switch by placing a jumper between brown/white wire and brown wire. The effect of doing this is when you put the "awd" switch in "awd", it will be in awd regardless of what gear you are in. The jumper goes in the headlight pod, both the brn/wht wire and the brn wire hook directly into the speedometer. So you only need a short jumper. Hope this helps
ps. this will not affect the other parts of the override system, just provides awd in reverse.

2] For plowing with my 03 700, i have placed a switch on the headlight pod. when i turn the switch on, i get automatic override when in reverse. I hooked this up with a different jumper, that goes from the purple wire (reverse)to the gry/orange wire. Again, both wires are in the headlight pod and run to the speedo, so it is an easy mod. I used the wiring diagram from the 03 700 to figure this out, I haven't seen the 02. I also have a 500 HO and fixing it to plow was totally different. The 500 works off providing power where the 700 works off providing ground. Hope this helps

Bonus tips Used this as a guide for wireing reverse lights into my wheeler:

There are spade terminal connections on your bike specifically made to run a reverse light. Take off the front plastic panel (under the center headlight). If you're facing the front of the quad, look on your right side for a set of (3) red/white wires with a single spade terminal on the end - this will be your positive wire which is only hot with the key on. Right near where you find the red wires, you should also find a set of (2) purple wires with a single spade terminal- this will be your ground wire, but it is only grounded when shifted to reverse, this means your reverse light will only come on when shifted to reverse. The wires maybe hidden by some of the wire loom so it might take a minute to find them.
Summary: Run a wire from the positive wire on your light to the red wires on your quad. Be sure to install a fuse in this connection. Now run your ground wire on your light to the purple wires. I would buy some spade terminals to use on the wires coming from your light so that you can easily plug into the stock Polaris wires. Using this method you should not have to cut or splice a single wire that came stock o
