I'd make sure to upgrade to the Wiseco piston during the head change. Porting will also work into a nice performance package.

Your gain with the billet head will depend on which dome size you pick. Obviously, your gain will be higher if you want to get the race gas dome.

i got a prodesigns cool head from dennis kirk for $179.99 and got the 45cc dome for $37.99 cause i don't ride that agressively but they also have a 43cc size. it works really good.... much better top end feel to it

Along with what 250 stated, you'll want to get a head which uses o-rings to seal to the cylinder, that way, the heat transfer is better....as compared to having a gasket there.

im going to go with the hpd head,92 octane fuel.should i get the girdle kit with it?i didnt plan on getting the trail port done untill late in the winter season, you guys dont think it would be a god idea to get the head with the stock piston?i just want more power from her for the end of the riding season,do you think i should go with the 39 pwk carb for now instead of the head?im getting the hpd pipe next week not sure what silencer i wanna get with it,i was thinking about just using my fmf spark arrestor for trail riding, but i want something loud for when im riding on the track we built on my uncles land,he owns 500 acres in the middle of nowhere,so there will be nobody hearing the noisy silencer.is the hpd mt muffler what im looking for?we do a little trail riding when riding on his property, whats the chances of starting a fire without a spark arrestor?

The pipe will be the most bang for your buck. The 39 carb won't do much until you get some porting to go with it. After the pipe, get the HPD modded V-Fore reed kit.

Talk to HPD. I guess if you plan on eventually getting the porting, it won't be a big deal.

If you plan on getting the 92 octane head, I don't think you'll gain anything but better cooling.

I have what you see in my signature but I just got the carb and airbox and reeds at the same time and the throttle response is much better and the roost from takeoff is much better also seems to spin the tires more. got the billet premium head right after I got my quad and seemed to run cooler fan coming on less. but didn't notice a power difference.
