I have a 97 scrambler 500 its a good quad it handles well and goes through some pretty good stuff.... but it is WAY slow.. I have looked all over the net and I cant find anything for these besides the clutch kit and exhaust... is there anything else sold for it motor wise? like a bigbore kit and stuff like that, or even an oversize kit that I can use for the rebuild... I am going to do the clutch next weekend and see if that helps right now if I am rolling at like 5-10 MPH and punch it it has NO pull what so ever... what would you guys recomend I do to this thing to bring it to life a lil more.. my cousin has a kawasaki prarie 650 and he smokes me pretty bad and I just dont think that is right...

Aaen does have some pistons and cams as well as porting the head. I believe that they have a kit for that as well. The only other company that offers engine mods for the 500 is Mickey Dunlap at Four Stroke Tech at (814)842-6159. According to him, their 628 big bore stroker combination is $645 with you sending your crank in to be stroked. It is suppose to make some major power. I believe that he also has cams and head work too.

Four Stroje Tech's 628cc kit is a GNNC harescramble race proven kit. One magazine claimed aroung 60hp. I don't know how accurate that is though. I will tell you that when the time comes, I WILL be getting the 628 kit. UNLESS HPD ever makes a big bore kit for the 500. Good luck with you decison. And if you do get the 628 kit let us know how it performs. There are a lot of us that are interested in first hand experience of how it performs
