I know Polaris reccommends their synthetic gearcase oil but what is the weight of that oil? And does anyone use another brand other than Polaris brand?

I ask cause the Polaris brands at my dealers is costly and if there is a safe alternative then I'd like to save some money...again if its safe for my sons Scrammy 50. I don't want to tear it up do to being a tight wad.

BTW my son has had his for about 5 months and at first I thought he really didn't like it that well but the last 2 weeks he finally figured out what can be done on it. He got it for his 6th birthday and it took him this long to really get into it. He has learned to jump it and is always wide open. Its a blast to watch but it makes me jealous cause I want one to.

Anyways please see the first 2 paragraphs and let me know if there is a cheaper type gear oil I can safetly use. If not I'll use the Polaris brand.

I've read on here that some people use Amsoil Series 2000 Chaincase Oil stock number: TCC-BE 12oz bottle retails for $5.35. Dealer/Preferred Customer cost $3.95. I have never heard what weight to use. I'm going to give the Amsoil a try when I change mine.
