Wheelie/grab bar?
#1
I have a 2001 400 scrambler. The grab bar looks too short to be a wheelie bar. My Warrior had a grab bar that would hit if I went back too far. My wife took a photo of me popping a wheelie, not ready to try and ride one out yet. I was way up, at the balance point, but the photo shows a lot of space between the bar and the ground.
Will the bar keep me from flipping over?

I had a modded 98 Sport. My bar never stopped me from going over. Not that I was a wheelie expert either. I guess it all depends on how fast you are going and how good you feather the gas.

My bar has kept me from flippin over dozens of times. My buddy was at the dealer test riddin a 400 and wheelied it hard(he has a 250 and was not expectin that kind of power). It dug into the ground about 2 inches it looked like cut sod for about a foot, but did not flip over.

Yeah bro, it should stop you in most situations on flat ground. If you stand a Polaris Scrambler/Sport up and stand a 400ex they sit at about the same angle. A Warrior or Banshee sit a little more tilted forward.
Here is a pic from like 3 years ago of my on my old Sport, this should be how yours will sit CLICK HERE FOR PICTURE .
Good luck with the wheelies...

It was pretty funny, though at the time we felt like kids who wrecked dads car. He did not buy it. The dealer actually took responsibilty for it. Said he should have warned him about the 400 tires gettin a better bite than the 250's Titans. And he was peaved to say the least. We still joke about it. The dealer was diggin dirt and grass out of the light pod. My buddy did buy one about six months later from the dealer. The dealer is a good guy and I go out of my way to buy from him.

Josh,
Thanks for the photo! My Warrior would drag the bar just past the balance point, I would let off a little and keep going. If I get to the bar on this one, it looks like I would have gone WAY to far back!!!
I think I will forget about ridding one out. It does not have very much engine braking and by the time I pass the balance point, I would end up like your photo!!!

Dave when you start to get too far over you just pull the front brake lever and you plop right back down. Even if you hit the bar, as long as you still have a little foward momentum. It takes a little practice, but it works slick. If you can find some sand or soft dirt try there first.
