Hello GBLAIR70,
Step 1. Take your Clutch Cover off, check for the cover for rub marks, next, check you clutches, turn the quad on crank it up watch you fingers and toes b/c the clutches are moving,if you don't hear the sound anymore ,then its not your clutches its the clutch covers.
Step2.Go to your local Polaris Dealership{call first} tell them you want a new clutch cover,For a 2003 400 Trailblazer. Why a TrailBlazer 400 clutch cover you may wonder, B/c the TrailBlazer 400 Clutch Cover is made of a better plastic and will withstand alot more heat than you factory Scrambler 400 Clutch cover will,Now you can get a factory Scrambler Clutch cover to,but it won't fix the problem, Also with the TrailBlazer 400 Clutch cover its the required to change the Clutch Cover Vent ,Which is alot bigger therefore letting more Cool Air in and Hot Air out of you clutches. The clutch cover and the clutch vent from the trailblazer is very easy to install it the same way as the factory one came off the only thing you have to do is take the factory Clutch vet off and replace it with the New TrailBlazer 400 Vent, which the bolts match perfect,
Step 3 Its a also while you have your clutch cover off is to get a new gasket to keep the water out,{gasket atwwhich goes around the inter and outer clutch cover.{all you need is the Outer Clutch cover} and it also a good idea to change the belt since you will be having it all apart.
Step4. Ride Safe.
This should help
