why are the Hot Seat and ESBS "billet" cylinders so much more durable vs a bored and nicasil'd cylinder like HPD or AAEN? and what do they cost?

Cylinder wall thickness. The billet cylinders also have improved cooling capacity over a stock cylinder. The billet cylinders also have better ring seal due to lack of distortion under load. The stock ported cylinders have proven to be very reliable, with higher than normal cylinder pressure with high compression pistons or power adders I would opt for a billet cylinder, just a little added security.

To be honest I am not sure of the price, I would guess in the $300.00 range. Reguardless of
which company you use, it will be money well spent in the long run.

Call Gary and talk to him, yes it is custom made, he has the program for the cnc. He has done a few of them. But the base 580 kit does not come with a billet cylinder.
