Predator Big Bore Pistons
#1
There's alot of different piston sizes out now and compression ratio's.
What bore size and compression ratio do you have?
What kind of problems have you run into if any? I have heard of blown headgaskets.
Are there any stroker kits and where can I find them? I think I saw a 708 or something one time.
I'm thinking of getting nitrous also for those fire road blasts so I'll most likely go with a smaller compression ratio rather than 12.5:1 which is avaliable for for some pistons.

Hot Seat has been running a 600 kit all summer long in MX with great results. I've taken the HPD standard bore high compression for a spin. I'll let you know after 12 hrs of America race. I know a prototype Aaen silencer fell flat a couple of weekends ago at the drags, give 'em time, Olav will get it straight. For big bore, I think it might be hard to beat the purpose built jug from Hot Seat. Time will tell, it's still a young motor.

I never got the Pred to the shop this week hopefully I will have time Tuesday, after I get it fixed I'm thinking I might trade for a 04 Pred then pile on the goodies.
I've thought about Honda's new 450R but I can't see it having much more ***** than my very modded 400ex and there just isn't much you can do yet with a CRF engine for internal modds to get big hp.
Now if Honda releases a 650ex before summer which I hear is coming I'd take it.

Yeah i hear ya. I've also heard about a 650ex to compete with the big bore quads. More of a trail/fun bike then an all out racer. Would be cool to see!
Keep me posted on how you make out. You got your quad from TPF right?

The Superbike 580 kit has proven it's self to be bullet proof. The 580 piston (wiseco) is lighter
than the factory stock piston. The early head gasket problem with big bore kits, which actually was not a head gasket problem but a base gasket allowing colant to mix with oil was easily correct with a cometic base gasket. We have abused a couple of 580 predators this summer at the drag strips, with no problems at all. The Billet cylinder kits, Superbike and Hot Seat are more
durable and will accept alot of mods.
