Default 03 TB 250 filter

Okay,
I'm sure this is a question that has been asked here a hundred times. But I hope one more time wont hurt. I have a stock 03 Trailblazer. And was looking at messing with it a little. Mind you my mechanic skills are lacking. Well after reading some post here. I'm thinking to change out my filter. I read that K&N lets more air through yet also dust through. Yet uni is the best in dusty siturations. My riding is in dry trails. Never in just sand. Anyway I'm hoping someone here has tried one of these two filters on a TB 250 and can help me decide which way to go. Also I've rode it about 40 hours now. Should I be doing anything to my stock filter. I check it now and again. Yet it always looks clean. Do I need to spray anything on it. Or just leave it alone. I'll ask about a better pipe thats not louder than my stock one later. Thanks.

About all you can do to the stock filters are replace them. As for the K&N, as long as you use an Outerwears or Prefilter, it will keep a lot of the dust out

Is it true though that when you use an Outerwear or Prefilter, it will reduce the air flow by like 20%. Thus reducing the power effect of the filter. But your saying that I dont have to do nothing to my stock filter but replace after awhile.

I don't think that there is anything that can be done to the stock filter but buy another one. As for the Outerwears, I clean mine after every ride adn only have to clean my K&N about ounce a year. The Outerwears and Prefilters do a good job of keeping most of the junk out. I don't know whether or not they inhibite flow. I assume they would a little, but not enough to make a difference

I have a 02 blazer 250, I put on a k&n filter and used the outerwear from the stock air filter, I guess by using the outerwear is the reason that I didn't have to rejet.

when i just got my pipe on i used to run the k&n filtercharger with the prefilter. I decide to take it off because i like to i deep water so it wasnt for me but when i put the stock setup back on it was just so tame. The filtercharger allowed you to hit power band really fast. now i just have the snorkel remove on my stock setup. helps a little.
