Default Charging problems

All of the connections are bright and tight. The lights stay the same no matter what the rpm is.

Default Charging problems

I own a 02SP700, i have been dealing with the same problem. When I turn on the lights and let it idle for a few minutes, all of the electrical system shuts down. The all wheel drive, speedo, lights, everything will not work. I turn off the light switch and about 30 seconds later it all comes back on. Any help with this problem would be great. Thanks in advance. Warp

next thing would be to check for continuity w/ and ohm meter......disconnect the 3 pin connector from the cdi connect the ohm meter to the red and green terminals (should read 1.6 ohms).......then the black/red and green terminals (446 ohms) if these fail it's the stator........oh yeah.......you might wanna throw your battery on the charger in the meantime

This is a possibility, check the red wire that comes off the voltage regulator. It is mounted up by the radiator under the front cover. There is a red connector that is new and it comes apart real easy. I have seen several new ones that have come apart causing problems that you described. Add a zip tie to hold it or replace it with a good spade connector.

Charlie, Thanks I spoke to the dealer this morning and he also told me to check it. I just got home and pulled the cover off and found that it had pulled apart just enough to keep the connector together but the terminals were apart. Snapped it back in and a zip tie was added and were charging at 14.50v. all is well.

Thank You for everyones suggestions and help.
