Default is this normal?

I have a 2000 SC 400 2-stroke, and when I give it gas, a small amount of gas splatters out the clear rubber (breather?) tube that's connected near the carb. (and exits near the foot brake.) Just wanted to know if a couple drops everytime I gas it is excessive or normal. Thanks

Yes that is normal. It is a vent tube that vents when the bowl has to much fuel.

It couldn't hurt to check the float setting and make sure the needle and seat are in good shape.
