Thought about that - but when you move it from right to left does it not also change it to twist up rather then down?
Have you done this? Will the cable be compatable with any quad? which brand?

I was just at the bar talkin to the guy who bought my Cyclone. He plans to sell it to a guy with one arm. The guy with one arm(left) has swapped them before. He runs with the throttle upside down on the oposite side. So it will be on top of the handle bar. Could this work for you temporarily Since you may not be runnin at top speed?

You're right, you would have to twist forward to open the throttle. The only way around it that I can see would be to install the part where the cable goes into the twist on the outer left side of the bars. Akward, but it should work. Now that it has been mentioned though, probably the best bet would be to look into a throttle off of a snowmobile or jetski. Those should work on either side but they might be expensive, not sure.

Check out the jet ski throttles I have seen some aftermarket ones that are like a fancy brake lever that might work for you????

Didn't some of the old European motorcycles use left handed twist throttles?? - I can't remember, but I remember that some had the clutch and shift lever on the "wrong" side. Maybe a motocycle salvage yard would know?? Then it would just be a matter of building the cable.

Bultaco had the shift lever and rear brake lever reversed but the throttle and clutch lever were on normal.
I agree with others that a jet ski throttle would be your best bet, some of the billet ones are also easy on the eye.
