electrical problems with sp600?
#1
I was plowing snow for a couple hours tonight(used winch frequently). Kept in LO the whole time and had the headlights on for about the last hour. When I was finished I dropped the plow and took off for a 15 minute joy ride in HI. When I got back I was driving around the yard I noticed the battery indicator would flash for a few seconds. Then a few minutes later the speedo needle flashed for a few seconds which apparently indicates a possible electrical fault. The manual said the battery indicator may flash if you operate at low rpms with lights on. I'm not sure if the speedo needle is related to that too. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this something I should be concerned about?

I just had the same type of problem on my 04 500ho. But not for the same reasons as you ( not plowing ) after checking all of the thing that I could think of I spoke to the dealer and found that the wires on the voltave regulator were plugged in but not all of the way. My reg. is mounted under the front panel above the rad. on the left side. check the red wires off of that the connect into another connector with two red wires. Hope this helps. you can also search this site I found a lot of help from it.

My '02 700 did the same thing under the same conditions. And yes, it is normal for the speedo needle to flash like that. That is it's way of letting you know there is something wrong... an alert / indicator. I found my problem to be caused partially by junky battery terminals. Once I cleaned them up I have never had that problem again.
