Default Scram500/TB400??

I have a 2003 Vinson. Great machine, but I think I would like something sportier. I think the Pred500 might be too much for the ol' fella. Mostly forest trails, some rough, for riding. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Do you prefer 2 stroke or 4 stroke? 2wd or 4wd?

a couple of buddies of mine have a scrambler 500 4x4, and the tb 400. they raced and the 400 beat it by a couple bike lenghts.

You can't really compare the Scrambler 500 4X4 to the TB400 since the TB is only 2X4. You need to compare the Scrambler500 2X4 with the Trailblazer400. They are supposed to be really close in a drag the 400 vs 500.

top speed the 500 is close to the 400 but the 400 will get there way quicker..plus the 400 is almost 100lbs lighter than the 500 so if you dont need a 4x4 go with the 400 its way more fun..

The 400 is quicker. Even with a stage 2 kit my buddy can take me on his TB 400. Strap him to the back of my 500 and I'll drag him up a hill spinning his tires. The 500 has way more torque and that can save your behind. Just a thought.

I know that you guys are talking about the Scrambler 500 4X4 but the Scrambler 2X4 is almost 50lbs. lighter than the 4X4 version so it would be closer in a drag to the Scrambler 400.

50 pounds doesnt mean anything its worth the 50 pounds to have 4x4 you never know when it might come in handy. and he said that he wasnt looking for the most speed he was looking for a sportier quad and the scrammy 500 is awesome. sporty and yet 4x4 .
