I have a 03 250 just put on kit from RcR it's a hpd pipe and msa muffler. Messed around with the jetting got it running good makes a lot of power but I have a few questions for you guys #1 how can I get it quiter are there a mods I can do to the muffler myself have lathe mill and tig welder but I don't know anything about mufflers. what is a hpd noise reduction kit how dose it work? or what is the quitest muffler avil. for this pipe hpd has a mtq none spark aressted that is pretty quite is there anything quiter? last? All I do is trail ride and hill climb top speed is not that big of a concern with me the trails I ride are full of big rocks and logs and i like to go over them. the problem is when i get up to a log and gas it the quad bogs wont get into the power just sits there what can i do with the clutch to help this i want the most possable low end power. anyone has this pipe and trail rides any info would help. rick has also been a big help. I just like to get alot of input on this.
Thanks alot for any help
Jeff

The best thing that you can do for a quiet silencer that still has nice sound is get your hands on a stock silencer from a scrammy 400. They fit perfectly with the hpd pipe. If you want great low end then change the rear sprocket to a 42 t. You will lose some top end but will gain tons of low end. This will also help with the logs but the bog off throttle is just the nature of the quad. It can be fixed but it will take more money. call rick and he can give some help in that area.

Default Tb 250 help

Thanks 2manytoys I was thinking about a sprocket how much will I have to leghthen the chain? I am going to by a new 400 silencer this week. Will it hurt the performance of the pipe any? Also anyone running a hpd pipe what did you do about your starter handle it has to be under the plastic to be seated so water don't get in. But that puts mine right on the pipe! Will it melt? The black plastic also hits the pipe pretty hard and gets real hot is this normal? Ok one more ? my primary clutch has a little groove less than a 1/8 inch deep way down in the bottom of the sheeve is this a big deal?
