Cooling down a tb
#1
is there a way to keep the engine cooler. I ride for hours and i feel like the engin is too hot. I have smelled burning of some sort b4, but i think that was the belt. Is there something i should worry about?

Keep the cooling fins clean(on the head and jug) Dont let it idle for a long time it needs to be moving in order for it to cool properly... For even more cooling get a hold of talonhawk he put some small fans on his...
Other things that can cause it to run hot is,
Carb not adjusted correctly
Bad plug
Hope this helps

I have a full race mod with a reed conversion kit added to my 99 TB
so a little extra cooling never hurt. Thats why I added a few lightweight
fans. Your stock TB should not need any type of added cooling just
do what trailrider500 said.

My Explorer 250 (same motor) has a fan cooling fan on it. There should be no reason you could not adapt it to a TB. You could have it operate off of a manual switch or a thermo switch like on my Explorer. For slow trail riding it couldn't hurt.
