Concentric axle on non-concentric scrambler
#1
Can you use an axle from a conectric drive scrambler on a non concentric drive? I am hoping to do this so i can use rear brakes from a ds650, to split the brakes. The concentric drive models have splines for the brake rotor, other doesnt. I just dont know if it will work with my bearing carrier.

Actually the non-concentric rear brakes worked much better than the concentric rear brake. You can maybe give Jeremy and the crew at Hot Seat a call, they should know the big picture.

I personally make the switch from non-concentric to concentric...you have to change axle, carrier, caliper and bracket...then you will need to weld a tab on your swingarm for your caliper bracket...It works fantastic..I did it to two bikes so far...If your chain ever breaks with the non-concentric then you will not have any rear brakes.

So... I don't have to change the swing arm? The axle, carrier, and caliper and bracket, thats all? Sounds easy enough. Ever conver the front end to dual a-arm?

No haven't done any front end work...the tab is actually a small tube that is wellded on . I don't recall what size..You would have to get all the parts together and line it up and mark it and then weld it. It is roughly about an inch and a1/4 long...Then you have to convert your brake lines....I eliminated the foot brake pedal, because i didn't want to spend the time to convert it. So now i have just the hand brake that does the front and back together. Same as before but no foot pedal...Ther is a certain brake line that i used...i'll see if i can find the part #...good luck

Just swap out the bearing carrier, bearings, axle & brake parts.
The reason the tab that holds the brake caliper in place on the swingarm isn't listed as a part is because it is welded integral with the concentric swingarm. Oh, and for the record, the concentric swingarm will NOT fit in the non-concentric machines. The 'eyes' at the front of the swingarm are the wrong size, and in the wrong place for it to work.
