I have quite a few mods on my Pred, and I am thinking about a set of nerf bars for my next purchase. I was wondering about the advantages/disadvantages with nerf bars. What kind of bars are the best, what all do I need to make them work the best. Someone told me that the bars cause there fenders to not stay tight, anyone else have those problems?? do the bars save any weight?? Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks Brad

 

i hear that AC nerf bars are really good or atleast their popular. my quad kinda has nerf bars built in, in a way. riding feals much more stable and you don't have to worry about keeping your feet on the pegs all the time, if they slip off the netting is there.

 

Like Paco stated, great for safefy. If you ride aggressively, they're a really good investment. The Ac's are nice w/ the integrate aluminum heel guards.

I run the Pure Polaris units, they're one of the few that fit w/ the larger CFM oil tank.

 

I also run the pure polaris bars. They fit very good, but one draw back to them are that the webbing runs around the outside of the bar. I've had to replace the webbing on mine because I got together with another quad with beadlocks and it cut right through the webbing. One good thing is that they are alot easier to install then the other types where you have to lace the webbing, anyone whos done that knows how much it sucks.

nerfs are great for riding double but they can be a pain, they get tin the way when loading and sometimes they can be tricky to put back on but if i were going to get some i would get dg or ac

 

Gotta agree with RuckusRacing. I have the Polaris nerf bars. I had to buy new webbing...SIXTY BUCKS!!!!! I don't like the way they go on. I wish I would have known. I suppose if I hadn't gotten them for 150, I'd be more aggravated. I can't recommend any of the others, but I'm sure they are some on here who can. My opinion only....Scott

 

I'd grab a set of Pro armor or AC racing Pro pegs.

I did have problems with my ACs, they lacked the quality I was expecting from that company. Then again the size of that monster pegs sure is sweet!!

Pro Armor and AC Racing still bolt up to the fender to make sure it stays where it belongs. The ACs have a seperate mount that runs from the frame to the Fender using the mounting that the Stock heel guards previously used. They look sweet. If I had a Digital camera I'd post a pic but all I have is a 35mm and no time.

 

TLD, gotta agree, those are nice units.

Other than continually replacing the Pure Polaris webbing....hope they don't get mad at me for suggesting this. You can cut and re-sear (melt the ends where they are damaged, so they don't unravel) Then you can either find a under/over style buckle, and or fab up a short piece of webbing w/ a snap. Each time the webbing is damaged, all you have to do is replace the small damaged portion. Of course there will still be times to replace the entire webbing, but it still helps you get more use out of them.....they are the best fit. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
