The 04s are pretty much perfect, Hozed was telling me that the front brake lines need something...? But it was a cheap and quick fix, over all the 04s are good...

I have a 04 Pred, I have had problems with the front brake lines. They snapped at the splitter box right on the flare fitting(both sides) After going over the problem with my dealer ,we found it to be caused by the brakeline loom on the upper a-arm. On the 04s it was bolted on and on the 03s it was snapped into place.the bolted on way cause stress on the line t the box because it was getting pushed and pulled with the movement of the a-arms.
Quick fix is to cut back the loom so there is more flex in the line.also Make two stand offs for the brake line so it is held to the frame next to the splitter box(rubber and zip ties)
So far that is about it. All the other problems that the 03s had are gone and any I have had other ten the brakes would have happend to any quad.
04 Predator IS THE BEST STOCK QUAD FOR THE MONEY!!!

I got an 04 troy lee pred about a month ago, ridden it every day since, loving it, the only problem i have is not really a problem, but the handlebar grips seem to be loose when they are close to the endof the handle. The inner side of the grips is just find, but as it goes towards the end of the handlebars they seem to be twisty and loose. Its not really a problem, it doesnt bother me any, it only happens when its on full throttle and i really gotta hold on lol. real easy fix im assuming too. anyone else have this problem?

I have a 03 TLD Pred which I haven't seen sice I took it to the dealership last September with a bown tranny.

It was thought to be fixed twice (2 gears and a shift fork and the other time a new spring) but wasn't and now is waiting for a complete 04 tranny which Polaris doesn't say is any better or different than the 03 except with better cut gears for alittle smoother shifting but yet not perfect like some other brands.

I'm worried about shift forks in the 04's also bending.

The whole front end of it is garbage you can't keep it together cause it wasn't welded together right and everything wears out after just 10 hours cause its always works against itself. Ball Joints, tie rod ends, shock bolts, a-arm bushings everything goes in a blink of a eye.

It has only 61hrs and is in mint shape and isn't ever in the mud, abused, jumped excessively,or raced.

They wanted me to pay for the first 6 hours of labour to cover the cost of tearing it down the first time but it's been so long and I have been paying payments (~$860) for the past 5 months and haven't even seen the bike, I really think I should not have to pay it.

Polaris is paying for all parts and have paid for the front end to be replaced twice within six months (the warranty ran out last June) However, Polaris isn't going to fix this bike anymore after this I cannot see it and its always going to have front end problems I want rid of it but what can I do!

My Dealer is going to give me a crappy price on trade no dought and I highly dought Polaris will buy this Troy Lee Designs 03 Predator back from me and put it out of its miserry. The build date was November 16th 2002 yeah a Saturday.
