Predator 03 or 04?
#1
Hi I am from the UK.
I was considering a Polaris Predator or a Yamaha YFZ450, but I found my knees were very high on the 450 and have opted for the predator.
The dealer has an 03 model which has 4 hours use including a 2 hour enduro race, this has nerf bars and an upgrade pipe. Or he has 2004 models for about £200 (uk - about $300) more.
The ex-demonstration 2003 has a few marks but nothing major and still has the polaris warranty. But the 2004 has the new plastics among other little bits.
Any tips appreciated

Get the 04 simply because of the frame, I had to have my 03' frame replace because it cracked. They redesigned frame in that area on the 04's. Also the 04's have 9" rear rims w/ the honda bolt pattern. The swingarm is also alittle shorter on the 04 which is suppose to make it easier to wheelie. I haven't riden an 04 yet so I don't know how much of a difference it made.

you're probably right, thanks for your post. The 2004 is new - and of course stock. Are there any essential upgrades, or should I just enjoy it as stock for a while. (it's REALLY wet over here at the moment - many tracks are closed).

I thought the whole point of the Polaris suspension design was to NOT have it wheelie easy....sheesh. But that being said I have had NO trouble wheeling an 03 Pred on a test drive. Thing comes up just like any other quad if not easier. I am not a beggining rider though, but that should not make a differance in my opinion. Easy up for anyone, but to keep it up takes a bit of practice. )
