Which is Faster: The scrambler 400 or 500, and which one has the ability to go faster with mods.

stock for stock, about the same

the 400 with a few mods will easily pass it. Pipes, porting, ect will pull a lot more power out of a 2-stroke.

Pipes don't make a huge increase on 4 strokes.

I agree I personaly think the 400 will take the 500 in a race! there pretty close.

400 would win. Look in 4-weel ATV Action, September, Pg 55.

Both are fairly close, but If you're gonna add after-market parts than go with the 400. You can beef it up lots cheaper and when they're maxed out they will fly!later Polcat
