558cc big bore is 12.5:1 rite? You might get by with premium gas with octane booster...

The compression psi should be around 120pis i would think can see it to much higher or lower...

i am pretty sure i can get a 558 with stockish compression.. but its probably a waste... but i think i can run pump fuel on like 150 or lower compression.. i wouldnt mind running 93 with an octane boost tho.. i always thot that octane boost stuff was a joke.. but maybe not.

It helps some, I ran 93 octane with booster in my stang when i had the 351 in it with 11.1 compression and it ran fine.. I could tell a big difference with the booster tho, it ran a heck of a lot better...

P.S. You notice i said i HAD a 351, my very heavy foot was the demise of that engine

Shee top end rebuild was about $250 thats with having it bored too...
