Can I?

Just put the new pipe and silencer on. I was wondering if i could start it up as soon as the sealer dried or do i have to jet it first? Just wanted to hear the new sound, i would not be riding it just starting and reving it a little. It is about 10-15 degrees out side.
Also, my new pipe touches the plastic pull start. Is this going to be a problem because i dont want it to melt. The pipe doesnt allow for an upward motion pull, just a pull out sideways. My battery sux right now, and i havent had the time nor the money to replace it, so i am counting on the pull start. I plan on boltin on a piece of metal to sheild the pull start before i ride next. R there ne better materials for that than metal?
Thanks much!

u definetly gotta jet it first or u will wreck the engine. better off doin it rite and it will pay off in the long run. my pull start hits the pipe too its alright. mine hasnt melted yet its really thick plastic wouldnt really worry about it.

You could start it to listen to it...I see no harm in that, just don't sit there and rev it up for 15 minutes. I ran mine with stock jetting after adding a K&N, and also ran it a little after piping it....
Depends on what your plug looks like now....most are jetted rich to start with....adding a pipe will help the engine breathe a little better but it's still going through the stock air filter so there's not a whole lot of change.
Just to hear it....I don't see a problem from it.
