Default Changing Exhaust Packing?

I was wondering how long do you go until you change the packing in an aftermarket exhaust? Thanks!

I usually change mine at least once a year.More so if I get submerged in water. If water or mud clogs your packing, youll know it.The pipe gets about 50% louder than they already are.No kidding.Just change every year, only cost like 7.00 dollars or so.

Listen closely to your silencer while the bike idles. If it makes more of a pinging sound then a rumble, as in it seems to echo, then your packing is wearing out. New packing gives a bike that great purring sound. Also, the silencer will get hotter faster if the packing is out.
