so I guess the number one thing we need to do is go back to the dealer and raise more hell. Thanks for looking for me RaptorRider, I looked a little but came up with nothing. I will look some more tonight, right now I have to go and work on another friends Raptor. Damn, they better be around when mine breaks. lol

 

my predator would shift to fifth by its self and some times would not go in to 4th gear. its been out of warranty for six months and polaris covered the labor to fix it. cant ask for any better service than that. any of the jap company will not take care of there costomer like that. i have had 8 polaris atvs and the predator is the only one that has any problems. im sticking with polaris.

The respones of Polaris's willingness to help out was what made me go ahead and buy my 03' Pred, and I have to say I'm glad every single day that I sold my POS 01' Raptor(that Yamaha will NEVER stand behind!) I will not give my money to Yamaha ever again. I bleed blue for years, but after all these things they won't back up I'm done. I'm not spending between 6-7 grand just so they can bend ME over. Yes there are some reports of 03' trannys going out in predators, but UNLIKE Yamaha Polaris seems to accept responsibility for thier failures. Unlike others....... I may go Jap again someday, but you can bet it won't be another yamaha.

Flynbryan, I feel your pain! Thats exactly why I am almost positive I am getting the Predator, at least if it does brake they will take care of the problem!, check your PMs too!

Everyone says this and that about them trying to dog them, but I really think they're just jealous that a polaris can beat their rice burners. Its really sad some of the crap these guys come up with to make thierselves feel better about what they have.

 

I have an 03 pred and I bang gears hard all day long at the track, and even shift without the clutch a lot. NO problems yet--- maybe just a freak thing

 

3rd gear went in my brother pred and they took it apart and through they fixed it but the first trip down the road it screwed up. the ended up taking it apart 3 times and trying to fix it but they could never get it right, So just they other day they called him to let him know that an 04' complete engine, one more thing the last time they took it apart they put a 04 tranny in it ( or just all 04 parts not quite sure) something really must have been screwed up if that did not work.

 

sounds like the mechanics at your dealer have some problems of the own... doesnt have anything to do with polaris. cool he is gettin it all replaced though

 

Hey guys, just a little update on the Predator. We went to the stealership and talked to the service guy. After we got past his attitude he said he would call Polaris and see what could be done. According to him the 3rd gear rarely goes out. Anyway, today we find out Polaris is willing to cover the parts only. It will be about $500 labor. Kinda low budget but I guess we should be happy for anything we get. Polaris did do more than Yamaha is willing to do with me. By the way, my buddies name on the forum is Ninjawarrior. He is the one that owns this Predator. He signed up yesterday after hearing me talk about this site.
