Default water pump and crank case question??

thanks ced. i also noticed that the bearing and seal on the outer case(where the stator goes) are bad. at least the seal is. I believe the part numbers are 3084131 for the bearing and 3084120 on the seal. Do i have to orders these parts from polaris or is it just a regular bearing and seal i can pick up at the auto parts store. I have a friend that works at napa and he couldnt cross the number off the bearing and i couldnt read the number on the seal. Maybe i could just go match something up at napa. What do you think?? thanks again

I think that bearing is kinda oddball. You may have to get that bearing at polaris. The seal you should be able to get at a bearing store or possibly napa.If you can't find them give Rick Ritter a call.I had to get that bearing from him.

Mabell1,
You can get a complete seal kit for the engine (incl waterpump seals) for $13 w/shipping here: PSEP I don't think you can touch this price anywhere else.

The cause of your milky oil in the crankcase could be due to the crankshaft seal/bearing being defective, allowing the engine's vacuum to "suck" the mixture into the crankcase from the balance sump.

I would suggest at least inspecting the balance shaft and the crankshaft for excessive play in the bearings while you have it apart - it could cause you problems down the road. Also the waterpump bearing should be replaced while you are replacing the seals.

As far as gaskets go - the right way is to replace the gaskets - some components are designed using the thickness of the gasket to maintain clearance - the permatex tightens down with 0 clearance and could impair the performance of some critical components.

What did the dealer/person who rebuilt your top end have to say about this? When they started it up, after the top end rebuild, what did they tell you? Did they say... "Were done, it started, come get it, and by the way..." Is this the first time it has ran since you bought it?

Default water pump and crank case question??

well it took them 5 weeks to do the topend after promising it in 2 weeks. they said they could fix it but it would cost $600.00 to replace the seals. i told them i would come and get it. when i got there. they had lost my oil cap, did not do any of the other stuff they were supposed to do.... rear shock, chain guide, tierods. then they didnt want to help me load it on the truck. like me and my 2 year old daughter were going to pick it up and set it on the truck!!!!!!!! Any way the dealership is Winchester Motosports and i will never go there again. They seemed like the nicest bunch of guys when i brought it in and when i came to pick it up they were the biggest bunch of a$$holes i have seen. Well they asked if i could give them a couple of days to find my oil cap, i am still holding my breath waiting for the call. He said its no big deal since i premix my gas anyway. NICE. i should have just took one off of the floor models. Oh well, you live and learn. So i ended up paying $450.00 for a topend job. Yes this was the first time i had it running
