Default '04 Predator 50 - rev limiter

Just bought an '04 Predator 50 for the kids. They love it, but feel the need for more speed than the 15mph that's available. I've read about cutting a green wire on the CDI. Does this work for the '04? Any downsides - can the kids cook the motor if I do it, etc.?

Thanks.

i got a scrammy 50 for my boy this christmas, and it comes factory fitted with a little tag on the cdi you just remove the tag to deristrict the rev limiter, im just wondering if youve already done this, if its aplicable to pred 50, and is cutting the wire the next stage??

Thanks - I did remove the factory limiter - which Polaris covers in the manual, that let's the quad to about 15mph, but in reading other posts, sounds like there's an electronic limiter that allows our quads to go beyond 15mph.
