Default How big are we going?

lol, to think that when i got my Sportsman back in 1996 as a 1997 model, it was the BIGGEST and most POWERFUL atv availible, bar-none. and now there are 600, 650, and 700 twins with an 800 already on the way (i wont say who or when )....so now my big bad 500 feels "average" LOL!!!!
thats ok tho, ill have a grizz-660 or sportsman-600 within 6-months, so at that time i wont be too-far behind...

Quads are going to be like snowmobiles, they are going to make the biggest cc motor they can legaly get away with then they will start downsizing to a more resonable displacment, probaly around the 700 to 800 at the most. The manufactures are getting complaints all the time about building polluting{ 2-stroke) which are going away and gas guzzlers quads and they will bow down to the greenies as they do not want more govt oversight in the industry like the automobile industry over fuel economy. So when they do build the biggest baddest go ahead and buy it and all the parts you can find as you know it will not belong before it is gone.
Personaly I am satisfied with my 450Kodiaks displacment (421cc) as I rode a King Quad 300(280cc) for 9 years and it was plenty fast for me and it provided the torque but since my wife did allow me to replace it and I will have it for another 9 or more years I went with slightly bigger as I have been adding more gear and of course a few extra pounds. Of course there is the one guy that wants more and that is his perogative and I say have at it. But you might have to build the engine yourself.
Now a question: MnFriesen said the law is 800cc(Minnesota), is that for the manufacture or can an individual punch out his 800cc quad to over this restriction size? AlaskaBoy.
