Default EBS or Non-EBS

Any advantage of adding and EBS Clutch to a non EBS 99 Scrambler 500. Will it slow it down?

thanks
Steve

What EBS does is it slows the engine down only when you let off the throttle. its good if you ride where there are alot of hills, because with EBS you dont have to use the brakes nearly as much. my Sportsman (1998) has EBS. incase you dont know? it stands for (Engine Braking System) so it acts as a brake inside the clutch and is sorta like downshifting with a manual, kinda. the one and only thing i dont like is the whining noise it makes when it is working, but thats how you know it is working..lol. but i wouldnt bother with it unless you ride up and down hills constantly like i do up in the mountains. or you just dont feel like using the hand brake as much.

so it WONT slow the engine down Performance-wise, it only slows it down when off the throttle (drifting).

Like pman said, EBS is great for hills, mountains, and rocks (where i do most of my riding). I would be at a disadvantage with my auto trans. with out it.

I just put a HPD EBS secondary on my Scrambler 400. Daryll says it will improve my upshifting and backshifting. Its all iced over here right now so I cant tell a difference yet.
