Default Gas in my Oil? SP 700

Just got my 02 SP700, 1800 miles, seems to have a coolant leak (no surprise) but looks like its just a hose fitting/clamp. More concerned about the increasing oil level in the case. Drained out about a cup tonight and its still alittle high. Just changed it a couple days ago and only added 2 qts (Polaris Syn 0w40). Have been letting it warm up on 1/2 to 1/3 choke for 5-15 minutes (cold here in Minnesota), could this be dumping gas into the crankcase? Otherwise seems to run fine. Any thoughts?

If gas is somehow getting through the carb and into the cylinder it will then get past the rings and into the crankcase. I would check the floats and the needle and seat in the bowl first. Make sure that the vent tube that bleeds off fuel is down below the carb and not put up high. I have seen people put these tubes up high in an attempt to keep water out but when you do this and the the floats are too high or the needle goes bad it only gives the gas one place to go (into the cylinder). Good luck. Shut the fuel off at the tank valve when you are done riding that should help too.
