tbsleeper,i salute your uncle,,,,welcome the polaris dynasty....
not all known,,,but that engine is one of best blood given polaris has offer to a sled,,,some weeks ago,,a bad coil wire was suddendly disconected from the ignition system, unfortually i was not able to fix right on trails,,,so just fire and go (that mean it was running only on 2 cylinders)it was still revving at peak rpm but very badly,,going 85 mph+ on the straight,,put about 50 miles that way,,when at home make a compression test,,,at my surprise still at 140 psi trough the 3 holes,, the stock specs when stock,,,beleive me,that engine is undestrictible.
when your at 95 mph in long straight and the engine and skis lift is like at 40 mph,,that mean motor is strong,115 mph is just a normal speed on that thing,,,it is not a ditch banger, but on top end is pretty wicked, that some rush i've never had on a quad yet,,,and that smooooothhh sound man!
watch out new fusion 2005 900 sdi, polaris is back darker than ever.

take care ,,ride safe,,speed is an fast addiction.

The original post was 102 mph not 125. Scramblered being from Canada I'm sure you don't understand snow in Missouri. We had 12 " of snow then it immediatly started to melt. So what you end up with is a very hard icy surface. Now as I said I know nothing about this machine but it was gliding on top of this icy hard snow without hardly making a mark and I was going very fast. I didn't mean to start a contraversy I just was having fun going fast on a toy I don't get to play on much.

All I am saying is that I believe that I had ideal circumstances gliding on top of the snow and ice not a lot of resistance like anyone would have plowing through 12" of powder. It sounds to me that you are saying that the speedo was innaccurate that it is impossible for my sled to go that fast. Speed seems faster the closer you sit to the ground and I am not use to this sled and you definately sit closer to the ground on a snowmobile than on an ATV. I may have only been going in the 80 to 90 range. I don't know just reporting what the speedo said.

my XCR 800 will hit 130 mph on a lake,,,but i'll not tell you what it take to do so.
the new yamaha rx-1 stock is in the 116-117 mph range even slower depending on engine brake-in.
I agree 100% with this guy. I have been around fast sleds all my life, And what the speedo says and what the radar gun say are two compleatly diffrent things.

my 2003 artic cat zr900 sno pro was clocked at 110.7 mph. on the odometer i read 120 something mph. this was on an half mile run. 600 stock sleds that goes near 120 is pure speculation and talking without knowing what you are talking about. of course the rx1 is fast on the top speed but on acceleration its the slowest machine there is on the big machines lineup. any 800 two cylinders two strokes and 900 and certainly the firecat 700 will smoke it all the way on a thousand feet run. were talking about a 1000 cc machine with 4 cylinders that make about 139 true horsepower and 79 pound feet of torque. and weight about 553 pounds dry. my machine is a two cylinders of about 862 cc that make 151 hp and 110 pounds of torque and weight 495 pounds dry! i doesn't take a genius to understand that four strokes just don't cut it in the performance department. i don't care if they bring more 4 strokes i will keep buying two strokes machine until they stop making em!
