Swing Arm guard?
#1
Im thinking about getting a rear swing arm guard for my trailboss, when i go mudding i dont like how the chain digs into the middle of the rut, would the swing arm guard help it? would it help it glide over the middle?

Just took mine off today. I lost about an inch and a half or so and it did cause me to high center a couple of times.
I was very concerned about protecting the chain and various parts back there so I bought one....after following a buddy's scrammy who didn't have one and watching that disk, I have no doubt that it'll protect things just as good, if not better, than the guard.
One thing that always concerned me with the guard was getting a rock caught between the chain and guard....either breaking the chain or tearing up my sprocket.
There's one pic here of the gaurd installed on a scrammy....3rd pic I think it is....Save your money or get something else.

Hello,
I ride in the woods mostly and I wouldn't run without a swingarm guard, the small amount of clearance you lose doesn't make up for the potential damage to the chain, sprocket, and brakes, Just my opinion mind you.

I mostly ride rocky trails and an always straightening out the skid plate, i'm glad that absorbs the banging instead of the venerable parts! But if I rode mostly sandy trails i would run without it, its a pain to adjust the chain with it.
