Default 400&300 NEED HELP!!

FIRST MY 2001 400 XPLORER. I HAVE SPARK AND FUEL BUT I HAVE NO COMPRESSION. MOTOR TURNS
OVER ALRIGHT, THEN IT BACKFIRES OUT THE EXHAUST PIPE. DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO NEXT.
MY 1998 300 XPLORER, I HAVE SPARK, FUEL AND COMPRESSION BUT WON'T START. IT ACTS LIKE IT IS FLOODED.
I PULLED THE CARBS OFF OF BOTH OF THEM CLEANED THEM UP GOOD BUT DIDN'T HELP. ALSO ADDED ISOPROPL TO THE GAS TANKS. THINKING FREEZE UP. DIDN'T HELP!! ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD HELP. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Default 400&300 NEED HELP!!

On the 400 - sounds like it's time for a top end rebuild.

On the 300, pull the skid plate and on the bottom of the crankcase is a drain plug - 10mm socket (can use a philips screw driver also, but recommend the socket) - there are 2 drains down there, one is obviously related to the rope starter - that is not the one to open for this. Pull your spark plug, crank the engine over to "pump" the excess fuel out - put the drain and spark plug (cleaned) back in and see if she will start.

On the 400 I would check the reeds before I went any further. On the 300 drain it and try again. Be careful with the isopropal it will cause lean running and you know what that leads to. MELTED...
