I am in the process of selling my 1995 400 Explorer and have pretty much made up my mind to buy a new Sportsman 500. I do plan to ride a 700 first but probably will buy a 500. My question is do you guys think Polaris will be putting EFI on the 500'S next, I would hate to get a new 500 and a few months later find out if I had waited I could have a 500 with EFI. Thanks for the imput in advance.

 

There is a rumor that Polaris will be implementing the efi into their other models as well. Its a sweet setup, but the cost is a little more. The 700 is the king of their market and those that buy it are going for the best and arent worrying about the price. It may be 2 years or so before the get to the 500, knowing how tech research and marketing go. You may as well just go for the 500 and trade it when they make a new one with the EFI. If you go with the 700, you wont be disappointed. It is Awesome! and we havent had any come back yet with problems.

last week i was told by a Polaris dealer that soon dealers will only be able to order SP700s with EFI. she said non-EFI models will be discontinued. i don't know if that if myth or fact. as i said, i have only heard this from one dealer so far.

i haven't heard anything about the 500s though.

HELL, the 500 is a GREAT ATV just the way it is! always has been, always will!
