i have a 600 sp and when i start it up and run it for awhile, there is a ticking noise coming from the left side of the motor. i brought it in and they said that is how the twin motors run. he started up a 700 and it was the same way. for once is he right??

Polairs motors are noisey, thats all there is to it. The new 700 EFI is suppose to be better though. It could also be the primary clutch. It can be noisy at times too

Do a search for "knock" and see how many returns you get. I was pretty worried until I read all the other posts.

I know on the 500's if it still ticks on the left side after the valve adjustment then it's the oil pump and the noise is normal. Like Trailrider 500 said they all make noise, even from the rider!

I think the noise you are describing is normal, every 700 and 600 I have listened to does it. Someone a while back said it is cam and counter balance gear noise. My 03 700 seems quieter now that is is broken in, also if you idle it up a little it quitens down. All the common noises have gotten better on mine now that it has about 1000 miles on it, I barely notice the driveline clunk anymore, of course it could be my hearing is worse.
