yes that is ok
but im sure that you don't need a battery to start you engine, so lets say your battery has gone bad when you stranded out in the boinies, your saying that you would be screwed, im not to sure about that, all the bikes i have worked with will run without a battery. when your engine is runing it is chargeing your battery as well as runing the CDI and so on as long as the load is low. but if you cdi is just runing of your battery then there is something wrong, and your battery would also be dead all the time.

u dont need a battery to run. the power that is sposed to charge the battery will go right though and run what normally is being run. the more gas the more power u will have

well not necasrly more rev more power
your alternator is sill only desined for a certin amount of current draw your voltage might go up a bit untill your voltage regulator regulates it to arount 14v. but thats it.

yes you will get full power for sure unless your power regulator is burn out then some time it will have way to much as if i came strait from the alternator. I had that problem with my 84 honda threewheeler

The Stator actually has 2 circuits - 1 charges the battery/lighting circuit, the other provides power to the ignition system. This is why you can start it with the rope and it will run when the battery is dead. If you run it without a battery on the bike, you will eventually burn up the charging circuit in the stator ($). It is better to leave even a dead battery on to accept the charge than not having one on at all.

The WB battery eleminator is basically the same thing they used on non-battery powered lighting systems - all it does is powers the lights.

ps - and the ignition system

You can't burn out the stator by not haveing a battery. the only way to BURN it out would be to overload it or short it out and then you have cct fuse's for that anyway, as long as it dosen't short out before the fuse. having no battery to charge dose not make a difference, or hurt the system in any way.

The charging circuit has to have a "place" for the electricity produced to go - this is controlled by the regulator/rectifier. Without a "sensing" voltage, the regulator/rectifier has no means of controlling how much electricity is placed into the circuit and how much is sent back to ground. In other words, without a battery (or eliminator) the regulator/rectifier senses it needs maximum output from the stator, and in turn BURNS out the windings in the STATOR from overheating. Actually long term operation with a dead battery will burn out the charging circuit too (most DEAD batteries have at least 4-6VDC in them, not quite as harmful to the charging circuit as not running a storage source at all).

The battery eliminator (or pack) takes the place of the battery - acting as a miniature battery. I was wrong before, the one I had installed for a guy was different than these - an actual stator replacement like used in Dirt bikes and old ATC's ....... wish he (or I?) had known about these eliminators - would have been much easier and quicker to do.
